Surgical interventions for the treatment of gynecology and obstetric intervention is a common practice across the globe to improve patient outcomes and patient’s quality of life. Surgical interventions can either be open procedures in a conventional way or with the advanced technology they can be made via the minimally invasive or laparoscopic methods.

Some of the common gynecology & obstetric surgeries include – hysterectomy, myomectomy, operative hysterectomy, removal of fallopian tubes, surgical management of endometriosis, removal of ovarian cysts or the removal of ovaries themselves. Some of the diagnostic procedures such as a colposcopy have a similar protocol as a surgical intervention.

Minimally invasive procedures have become more accepted and prevalent in recent times due to the various advantages that they bring for the patient. Early recovery, lack of trauma and excessive blood loss; in addition to the cosmetic advantages make laparoscopic procedures much more acceptable.
